SCOTTSDALE

BREAKING NEWS: MONDRIAN HOTEL
SCOTTSDALE IS NOW HOTEL THEODORE

After failing to receive an qualifying bid in a bankruptcy auction, the former Mondrian Hotel Scottsdale is under new management. The now bank-owned hotel is known as Hotel Theodore, managed by GF Management of Philadelphia.

The Old Town Scottsdale hotel has seen several different names, management groups, and personalities through the years, from standard to hip-and-funky to Mondrian's "Garden of Eden" concept.

Here's hoping that Theodore stays around for a while. We've been staying at "the hotel to be named later" for more than 20 years, even though my friends and I have long since passed the "hip-and-funky" demographic. Why? One simple and important reason.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

The Theodore/Mondrian/James/Clarion/Doubletree/Jose Uribe is incredibly convenient for baseball travelers. It's a short walk through the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall to Scottsdale Stadium, spring home of the San Francisco Giants. It's also a short walk to the attractions, shops, and restaurants of Old Town Scottsdale which makes Hotel Theodore a great base for a baseball vacation.
